Frequently Asked Questions

These are the answers to the most common questions we get asked about our Birmingham rehearsal studios. In case you need any additional help, please contact Support via WhatsApp or the Support Hub.

How much does it cost to hire a rehearsal room in Birmingham?

You can rent our rehearsal rooms from £7.50 per hour, with discounts on longer bookings.

What to look for when choosing the best rehearsal space for your practice?

The main thing to consider when choosing the best rehearsal studio for you is the size of your band. All of our studios have professional-grade equipment, and you can hire or buy any extras.

How many Pirate rehearsal studio rooms are in Birmingham?

We have 11 rehearsal rooms in Birmingham: 2 Standard, 2 Standard+ and 7 Pro.

What is the best rehearsal studio to practise for a gig?

All of our rehearsal rooms are set up with everything you need to practise for your gig. If you want to achieve an on-stage feel ahead of a public performance, opt for one of our largest Pro rehearsal studios for the most accurate solution.

Can you record or livestream your session from our Birmingham rehearsal studios?

Yes, you can record high-quality audio and video in your Pirate studio with Audigo. It costs £5 to hire it for a session or £3 if you’re hiring other equipment as well. You can find out more about Audigo here. To livestream, just connect to the free Pirate Wifi and begin.

What type of studio is best for private drum or guitar lessons?

Our Standard studios are best suited for guitar lessons. The studio you choose for your drum lessons will depend on whether you need cymbals or not; choose a Pro studio if you do and a Standard studio if you don’t.

What is the best studio for playing drums?

While all of our rehearsal studios have a 5-piece drum kit, book one of our 7 Pro studios if you need cymbals. If you have your own cymbals or don’t need them, our Standard studios will be the most suitable.

Do you have any additional equipment for hire in the Birmingham studios?

Yes, we have additional equipment available to hire and buy in our Birmingham studios, including microphones, headphones, lights, speakers, guitars, and step sequencers.

Your Local Area

Out and About In Brum

The UK's second city, Birmingham, is the hometown of many of the world's ground-breaking musicians, including Duran Duran, Black Sabbath, and UB40. In these more contemporary times, we're looking to Village Bully (band), Trieste (DJ) and Sophie Lou (MC) for inspiration.

Your local studios are snugly situated in the graffitied heart of Birmingham’s Creative Quarter, Digbeth, a stone's throw from the Custard Factory and Eastside Projects, meaning there's always something going on. If you're after some fresh air, the local park — Kingston Hill — is a great place to chill.

Right next door to the studios you'll find Mutt Motorcycle Company — who do a great cup of coffee. Peckish? Digbeth Dining Club has always got a mouth-watering line-up of the world's greatest street food traders. For a round of drinks and 'dough' head to Digbeth Brew Co.
